I’m someone who suffers from a big deal of anxiety, so I’ve never had a particular obsession for the future in particular, and even though I like day dreaming I tend to think over past times... but since I need to take the challenge I’d say I would like to explore Latinamerica, particularly Chile in some 36 years from now. This year I turned 36 and for that I would like to see the country by the time I double my age.
Today I learnt through social media that the President of the Constitutional Convention is a woman and also Mapuche, and guess what! She’s also a Language Teacher colleague. And now having witnessed that historic moment - I need to recognize, I never, either as a teen, a college student or even in recent years foresaw a Mapuche woman becoming a leader worldwide! so to me this is just marvellous! - I believe the future will be SO different!
I think things will definitely be different. I don't think there’ll be women or men, I think there’ll be just people, different shapes, different colours but nothing that may be strictly associated with either masculinity or femininity.
I think there won’t be much pollution nor consumerism, I wish there are no more wars within this territory in particular the wars fought against vernacular cultures, I do hope there won’t be more silly discrimination nor abuse against women or the queer community and I certainly believe there will be only green landscapes because people, will hopefully have understood that the Ñuke Mapu (mapuche concept to talk about “Mother-Nature" in its deepest sense) is the temple where we live.
I will be 72 by then so I guess I will definitely like to stay in this utopian world I like to think about. If the country changes towards that direction I will certainly like to spend my last years in an environment who respects everybody and above all, mother nature.
How fantastic it's to have a Mapuche leader in Chile! I'm totally agree with your opinion, teacher, I think that in the future we're not going to difference us with binarist logics.

I would also like to imagine a Chile more inclusive in terms of ethnic, racial, sexual and gender minorities.

EliminarHi Teacher. I hope that in 2057 almost all the things that you commented have been achieved because in that way the country will advanced a lot definitely.

ResponderEliminarI hope that Chile really changes in the direction you point out, it is necessary to have respect and empathy with everything and everyone.
ResponderEliminarHi teacher! I hope the country improves and in a few more years everything bad will change as you say. Otherwise the future is not motivating since due to pollution and global warming we could all die :(
ResponderEliminarI think that is the way to go. Actually in the Virtual Reality scene (that is kind of the future really), terms such as gender, identity and sexuality are treated differently than in real world, because people like to use avatars that identify them no matter masculinity or femininity preconceptions of what goes with what. So yeah I agree!
ResponderEliminarHello teacher, it would be great for Chile to have such positive progress, let's hope so
ResponderEliminarI´m totally agree with you teacher. Sometimes people call me dreamer when i talk about the future, but i think we have to keep the hope
